Ms. McKenzie was charged with residential burglary with a prior strike conviction (also for residential burglary) and a five-year prior enhancement.  She was facing up to 17 years in state prison. Mr. Wright was able to get the prosecutor and judge on board with mental health diversion. She successfully completed diversion, and her case was completely dismissed with prison time and no conviction.
