DUI—Judgement of Acquittal

Ismael R. was charged with driving under the influence of drugs. He was innocent and we took the case to trial. In pretrial motions, Mr. Wright was able to convince the judge to exclude some potentially damaging statements obtained by law enforcement in violation of Ismael’s Miranda rights. After the prosecution presented its case to the jury, Mr. Wright successfully moved for a finding of acquittal, which was granted by the judge. The case was dismissed before it was even submitted to the jury for deliberations.
